- Sergeant Volodymyr Yankin (call sign Yan) was killed on October 7, 2022, in battle with the occupiers near the city of Soledar, Donetsk region. The warrior was 43 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Boguslav, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from 9 grades of the local school. He worked as a construction worker, building multi-story buildings. In his free time, he engaged in carpentry. He lived with his family in the city of Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. He was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man defended his native country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar". He was the commander of an infantry fighting vehicle. "He was a good, caring, loving husband and father. He loved and protected his family very much, but he did not save himself. He will always be with us, in our hearts," said the wife of the fallen Hanna. The serviceman was buried in his native village. Volodymyr left behind a wife and son. Sergeant Volodymyr Yankin was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree, and posthumously - the Order of Courage of the II degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
