Volodymyr O. Herashchenko (Herych)

Soldier Volodymyr Herashchenko (call sign Herich) was killed on September 3, 2023 in a battle with the occupants near the village of Podoly in the Kharkiv region. The warrior was 41 years old. Volodymyr was a native of the village of Trostyanets, Odesa region. In 2003, he graduated from the Hryhorii Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University with a degree in Geography. In life, he was engaged in apartment repairs. During the full-scale invasion, the man fought for his native country in the ranks of the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a squad commander. "Volodya is remembered as a good student and a very decent person. Responsible, courageous, sociable, sensitive, a true friend who never refused to help, a patriot and a devoted son of his country, a true warrior-defender," his university said. Volodymyr was buried in his native village. He is survived by his father, sister, nephew, son and daughter.
