Volodymyr O. Hora

39-year-old paratrooper Volodymyr Hora was killed on April 17, 2022, while defending the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region. Volodymyr was born in the village of Verbky in Poltava region. He studied at Verbky and Ustyumivka secondary schools, and later entered the Kremenchuk Railway Technical School. After his mandatory military service, he lived in the village of Nedoharky. Since 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the Air Assault Forces. After demobilization, he worked at enterprises in Kremenchuk and at the Nedoharky Lyceum. During the full-scale war, he again took up the defense of the Motherland in the ranks of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade. Together with his comrades, Volodymyr went to the hot spots on the front. After a battle in the area of the village of Dovhenke near Izium, Volodymyr was considered missing for a long time. It was only after the liberation of the Kharkiv region that his body was found and identified. He was buried in the village of Nedoharky in Poltava region on October 28, 2022. "My dear, my beloved, I miss you so much that I can't even express it in words. Eternal memory to you, my hero, you will finally be home," wrote his wife Olga. "Vova was so sincere, kind, a true Ukrainian, a reliable comrade... We will all remember him like this forever! This is our Hero, who at the cost of his own life saved our lives. Thank you. We remember... Rest in peace, Volodya. You were a Person with a big heart! Heavenly Kingdom, Light memory," wrote Olga Mohun. "How can such a healthy, strong man rest in eternal sleep? He should still live and raise children, have plans for the future. The war has crossed everything out. He died defending us. I bow my head in mourning before you, Warrior-Hero, our dear child. I sympathize with all the family," wrote Olga Sova. Volodymyr is survived by his mother, wife, and two sons.
