- Sergeant Volodymyr Osyпенko (call sign Did) was killed on March 18, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the vicinity of the village of Budy in the Chernihiv region. The defender did not live to see his 56th birthday by two months. Volodymyr was from the village of Olyshivka in Chernihiv region. He graduated from the Mrynsky vocational and technical school with a degree in compressor machine operator. He worked at the Mrynsky gas storage facility. He participated in the ATO. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Volodymyr once again stood up to defend Ukraine. He served as a senior gunner in the grenade launcher platoon of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. "An experienced fighter who had been through the battlefields of the ATO, Volodymyr defended his country and family until his last breath... We bow our heads before the heroic sacrifice of Volodymyr Osyopenko and thank him for his worthy distinction of courage and devotion to his country," noted on the Ukrtansgaz page. "Honest, upright, brave. We mourn. Eternal memory," wrote Lyudmyla Shevtsova. The defender was buried in his native village. Volodymyr is survived by his wife, son, and grandchildren. Posthumously, Sergeant Volodymyr Osyopenko was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd class. In memory of Volodymyr Osyopenko's feat, a lane in his native Olyshivka was named after him.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
