Volodymyr O. Sakovych (Kazanova)

Paratrooper Volodymyr Sakovich (call sign Casanova) was killed on October 10, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kherson region. Enemy mortar fire cut short the life of the 34-year-old warrior. Volodymyr was born and lived in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region. He obtained the profession of a driver at the local vocational college. He worked in his specialty. He was interested in cars and was passionate about sports. During the full-scale war, the man defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a sapper. "Vova was a real man, a defender of his home and the state. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he went as a volunteer. 'I cannot stay at home while others are defending their home. I will feel like a traitor. Who will protect you, if not me?' - these were his words to his mother. He visited the military enlistment office and only then informed his relatives about his decision. Before the war, he worked as a driver and raised a son. He wanted his son to live in a strong and free Ukraine. We all hoped that together we would celebrate Ukraine's Victory. His loss is a great pain. The little son still asks his grandmother: 'Is there a little blood left to bring daddy back?', - said the sister of the fallen Hanna. The defender was buried in the village of Stepkivka, Mykolaiv region. At home, Volodymyr was awaited by his mother Lyudmyla, brother Yevhen, and son Vladyslav.
