Volodymyr O. Tarasov

39-year-old soldier Volodymyr Tarasov was killed on December 11, 2022 near the village of Karlivka in Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the fighter came under enemy artillery fire. Volodymyr was a native of Kherson. He had incomplete higher education. He worked in various fields, often changing jobs. For some time he earned abroad, but returned home. Above all, he adored his son, with whom he tried to spend his free time. Thanks to his easy-going nature and positive traits, he had many friends. He had an active civic position and loved Ukraine very much. In 2015-2016, he fought in the ATO in Donbas. When the full-scale war began, the man left the occupied Kherson and went to the military enlistment office. He joined the ranks of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He held the position of mechanic-driver of a self-propelled artillery platoon. He took part in battles for the Mykolaiv, Kherson and Donetsk regions. "He was a very good, positive, sincere person. He was cheerful, always smiling. He loved life. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he went as a volunteer to defend our Ukraine. At home, a 9-year-old son was waiting for him. Volodymyr will be forever in our memory," said the deceased's ex-wife Viktoria. Volodymyr is survived by his mother, sister, son, relatives, loved ones and friends.
