- Serviceman Volodymyr Udod was killed on May 10, 2022 in the Donetsk region. The 41-year-old defender had gone on a combat mission with his comrades-in-arms the day before, but none of them returned. Volodymyr was born in the village of Trudove, Zaporizhia region. When he was a year old, his father was killed, so his mother raised him alone. He grew up kind and sociable, always had many friends. After school, he obtained the profession of a mechanic at the local vocational school and was interested in technology. Later, he worked at various jobs: in a collective farm, at a quarry, at enterprises. At work, he had many certificates for conscientious work. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began, the man went to the ATO. After serving by mobilization, he returned to his native village. After the start of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr joined the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa to defend the Motherland from the first days. On May 7, Volodymyr last called his mother. As always, he said that everything was fine. She managed to tell him: "Son, take care of yourself," after which one of his comrades-in-arms called him. The mother never heard her son's voice again. On May 9, he went on a mission. And the next day, they reported that Volodymyr had been killed. "I was always proud of him. He never got into fights. He was constantly praised everywhere. He was very kind. The commander said that he was killed as a hero. But this doesn't bring him back to me. Everyone in the village cried when they found out that he had was killed. It's hard to believe," said his mother Valentyna. She was able to bury her son only after a DNA test. Due to the temporary occupation of Volodymyr's native village, he was buried in Zaporizhia, next to the fallen defenders. The serviceman is survived by his mother and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
