Volodymyr P. Hul

Vladimir Petrovich Gul was born on July 26, 1978, in the village of Medvedivka, Semenivskyi District, Chernihiv Oblast. On April 26, 2022, Vladimir Gul was conscripted during mobilization to the 105th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, serving in Chernihiv Oblast. In a relatively short period, he established himself so well that he was appointed to the position of inspector of the highest category — head of the 1st group of border service inspectors of the 3rd section of border service inspectors of the 5th border post of the 2nd border command. On May 13, 2023, Russian occupiers, using drones of the type "Shahed-131/132," struck the location of the reserve of the 5th border post of the 2nd border command in the area of the village of Mhy, Novhorod-Siverskyi District, Chernihiv Oblast. Senior Sergeant Vladimir Gul died on the spot from his injuries. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Senior Sergeant Vladimir Petrovich Gul was posthumously awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland."
