Volodymyr S. Artemovych

Sergeant Volodymyr Artemovych was killed on August 4, 2024 near the settlement of Novomykolaivka in Zaporizhia Oblast. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal injury. Volodymyr was 45 years old. He was born in the village of Nyzhchi Lubiianky, Ternopil Oblast. Recently, he worked as a track fitter in the brigade of the 11th section of the Ternopil Railway Division. Volodymyr was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the first day of the full-scale war. Upon receiving the summons, he immediately went to the territorial recruitment center. He held the position of mechanic in the technical support section of a self-propelled artillery division. "Volodymyr had a calm disposition, but at the same time was persistent and diligent in his work, caring not only about the result, but also about order in the workplace," recalls the track master of the 11th section of the Ternopil Railway Division, Andrii Bazkiv. "And during short leaves from the front, he always found time to visit the division, greet his colleagues..." The soldier was buried in the central cemetery in the city of Zbarazh. Volodymyr is survived by his wife and father.
