Volodymyr S. Hordiei (Boroda)

Paratrooper Volodymyr Hordii (call sign Boroda) was killed on April 4, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 31 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Mykolaivka, Mykolaiv region. He completed 9 grades of a rural school. He worked various jobs. He never feared taking on things he didn't know how to do, as he was constantly learning and improving himself. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for his native country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a serviceman of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He held the position of a sniper rifleman. "Volodymyr Hordii fought with honor and dignity to the end, but unfortunately, his young life was cut short during a battle with the enemy. This damned war took away a son, a husband, a father. The bright, kind memory of him will forever remain in the hearts of his relatives and countrymen, comrades-in-arms, all who knew him, loved and respected him," the Kazankivska settlement council said. "Volodymyr was a very kind and responsible person," added the deceased's godmother Natalia. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Volodymyr was awaited by his mother, two brothers, son, daughter, relatives and friends.
