Volodymyr S. Horodyskyi (Zmii)

33-year-old fighter Volodymyr Horodyskyi (call sign Snake) was killed on February 11, 2023 near the town of Bilopillia in the Sumy region. While performing his duties, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack on the positions of the defenders. Volodymyr was from the village of Nekhaivka in the Chernihiv region. He obtained the profession of a high-rise installer at a vocational school. Later, he settled in the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He worked at an industrial enterprise. He loved fishing, football and music. He participated in the ATO in Donbas. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man again unhesitatingly returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native country from the occupiers. He served in the 115th separate mechanized brigade. He was the commander of the unmanned aerial vehicle unit in the reconnaissance platoon. "My husband was a very kind and decent person. He was an orphan, he only had me and the child. He went to defend our Motherland, everyone respected and valued him. He was very hardworking, he worked all his life for the comfort of the family," said Natalia Huk. "Always cheerful and cheerful, he easily found a common language with everyone, had many friends, was the soul of the company," noted the community. The warrior was buried in Kryvyi Rih. At home, Volodymyr was awaited by his wife and child, who was 3 years old at the time of his father's death. Posthumously, soldier Volodymyr Horodyskyi was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
