Volodymyr S. Kurchenko

Kurchenko Volodymyr Serhiyovych was born on January 27, 1999, in Cherkasy. He studied and graduated from Cherkasy Specialized School No. 3. He then studied at Cherkasy Vocational School No. 21. He received the profession of a cook and worked as a sushi chef. In the summer of 2019, he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He ended up in the National Guard of Ukraine, in a military unit in Mariupol. After a year of military service, he signed a contract and served as a driver in the RMTZ company. In parallel, he entered the Cherkasy State Technological University, Faculty of Automotive Engineering. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he was a driver of an automotive platoon of the logistics company of the separate special forces regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". While defending Mariupol, he ended up at "Azovstal". He died on May 3, 2022, during a missile strike. He was buried on February 23, 2023, in the village of Chervona Sloboda, Cherkasy region.
