- Soldier Volodymyr Redka (call sign Pencil) was killed on September 10, 2022, near the village of Vremivka in the Donetsk region. At night, the fighter was on combat duty. Using a thermal imager, he detected the beginning of a concealed sudden tank attack by the enemy. He warned his comrades about it and was the first to engage in an unequal fight, opening fire on the enemy. He during the tank shelling but protected his comrades. The defender was only 32 years old. Volodymyr was originally from the city of Synelnykove in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He obtained a profession as an electrical locksmith at a local vocational technical school. He was passionate about fishing and adored dogs. He spent his free time with family and friends. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a member of the 203rd Battalion of the 108th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. He held the position of anti-tank unit operator. "He was the best... His smile was everything it started with... He helped everyone," said the wife of the fallen, Tetiana. Volodymyr was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the cemetery of his hometown.
