Volodymyr S. Riabykin

Soldier Volodymyr Riabykyn (call sign Riaba) died on September 16, 2022, during counteroffensive actions near the village of Pravdyne, Kherson region, as a result of enemy artillery shelling. The defender was forever 27 years old. Volodymyr was born in the city of Yuzhne (now Pivdenne) in the Odesa region. He worked as a welder. He was a professional kickboxer and a candidate for the title of Master of Sports. He sometimes trained children. In recent years, he devoted a lot of time to studying cybersecurity. He was collecting documents to enter the National Police in this specialty. During the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine as part of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He was a machine gunner. "My husband was a person who himself went to defend the country, who always achieved his goal, who was always for justice. He really wanted to establish order and bring the country to a new level, so that his future children would not be ashamed of their father, but the war decided otherwise, and I hope that his act gave a worthy life to millions of Ukrainians," said his wife Darya. The defender was buried in the village of Sychavka, Odesa region. Volodymyr is survived by his wife and mother. The defender was posthumously awarded the honorary distinction of the Pivdenne City Council "For Merits to the City".
