Volodymyr V. Arseniev (Arsen)

Soldier Volodymyr Arsenyev (call sign Arsen) was killed on October 30, 2022, near the village of Stepova Dolyna in Mykolaiv region. He received a fatal injury while trying to evacuate his comrades. The fighter was 35 years old. Volodymyr was born in the town of Illintsi in Vinnytsia region. He graduated from Illinets State Agrarian College, where he obtained a degree in accounting. In his free time, he loved cross-stitching and painting. Since his school years, he had a passion for writing poetry. During the full-scale war, he fought for Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a fighter in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. "He will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones as a warrior, a brave and strong older brother, a reliable and loving son. He defended everyone, but did not protect his own life," said the younger sister of the fallen, Olga. "Volodymyr fought for a peaceful sky for all of us, a happy future for our children, independence and freedom for our native land... The bright memory and boundless gratitude for loyalty to the Motherland will forever remain in our hearts. War takes the best..." noted the Illinets community. The defender was buried at the Morozivske cemetery in his hometown. Volodymyr is survived by his mother, sister, uncle, and grandmother.
