- Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Furyn (call sign Ded) was killed on September 24, 2022, near the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. While carrying out combat missions, the 57-year-old defender sustained a fatal injury. Volodymyr was born in the city of Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk region. He obtained a secondary specialized education. He had a driver's license for all categories, and his professions were always related to transportation and mechanization. He skillfully operated BELAZ trucks, cargo trucks, and buses. He could repair any type of equipment and was passionate about fishing and motorcycle trips. The man went to defend Ukraine back in 2014. He participated in the ATO/OOС and was repeatedly awarded by the command with honors and certificates. During the full-scale war, Volodymyr was a driver in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Ivan Sirko. From the first days, their unit bravely and steadfastly defended the Kharkiv region from Russian occupiers. "My father was the kindest person in the world. Even strangers, looking at his photos, could see kindness in his eyes. Always calm and ready to help. He was a good specialist in his field. He could handle any job. Since 2014, my father stood up to defend Ukraine, even though he had a good military history before the war. He dreamed of a swift victory and the reconstruction of the country, of a happy future and life in peace. But it was not meant to be... For more than 40 days, my father has been serving in the heavenly army. Such people are needed everywhere. We are left with sorrow, pain, and sadness, bright and beautiful memories... Rest in peace on the clouds, Dad!" said his daughter Halyna. Volodymyr was buried in the village of Rakhnivka in the Khmelnytskyi region, where he lived for many years. The serviceman is survived by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
