Volodymyr V. Korniev

Born on September 5, 1982, in the city of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Oblast (now the Russian Federation) in a military family. After some time, the family moved to the German Democratic Republic, then to the village of Divichki in the Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi district of Kyiv Oblast. Graduated from the general education school in the village of Divichki, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi district. Graduated from the Military Institute of Rocket Forces and Artillery named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of Sumy State University (city of Sumy). Served in the 128th Separate Guards Mountain Infantry Turkestan-Zakarpattia Twice Red Banner Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1556, city of Mukachevo (since 2017 - Mukachevo) in Zakarpattia Oblast). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 30, 2014, Captain Kornev was killed during a mortar shelling near the city of Luhansk. He is buried in the cemetery of the village of Divichki, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi district of Kyiv Oblast.
