- Lieutenant Volodymyr Kushpit (call sign Fenix) died on May 25, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The officer was 37 years old. Volodymyr was born and lived in Lviv. He graduated with honors from the Lviv Institute of Banking. He worked as a sales agent in a beer company. He spent his free time with his family. The man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2023. He completed officer courses and became the commander of a company in the 81st separate airmobile Slobozhanshchyna brigade. During his service, Volodymyr was awarded the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's "Cross of Military Honor" badge, the award of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine "For Wounds", and the award of the President of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine". "My husband was an extraordinary person. He combined the best qualities of a man: responsible, decisive, kind, caring, intelligent, and prudent. A loving father, the children always had fun and enjoyed spending time with dad. The best husband in the world. I felt his love and care even from a distance. When he was under shelling and participating in assaults, he was more worried about how we were doing. Comrades-in-arms remember him as a wonderful person and a good, responsible commander. His contribution to the defense of the state is extraordinary. Volodymyr had many plans. Many dreams... My husband loved life and wanted to live in a free and independent Ukraine. He wanted his children to have a worthy and happy future. No one has the right to forget the feat of the fallen heroes of Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine. Eternal glory to the heroes!"—shared Maria Kushpit. The officer was buried at the Marson Field of the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. The hero left behind his parents, wife, daughter, son, sister, and a large family.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
