Volodymyr V. Malitovskyi

Soldier Volodymyr Malitovsky was killed on February 11, 2023, while performing his duties near the village of Hrekivka in the Luhansk region. The defender sustained fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of enemy artillery fire. In January, the warrior turned 39 years old. Volodymyr was born and lived in the village of Ivane-Zolote, Ternopil region. He obtained the profession of a tractor driver at the Tovstenske Vocational and Technical School. He worked abroad. He was passionate about hunting and fishing. He loved to spend his free time with friends and family. During the full-scale war, on April 9, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade, holding the position of senior driver of the artillery division. "My dad was the best in the world. I didn't have time to say much to him, and he didn't have time to hear it... Everyone says that Heroes never die, but that's not true. I realized this when I pressed firmly against his cold February face, touching the wounds from enemy bullets that took away his loving fatherly laughter, the warmth of his gentle hands, and the shine of his loving eyes. At that moment, everything fell to the ground in our family, and in our fates, only memory remained. The memory of our dad, who gave himself entirely to Ukraine," wrote Tetyana Malitovska. The warrior was buried in his native village. At home, a wife and two daughters were waiting for Volodymyr. In the village where the hero lived, a memorial plaque was opened in his honor.
