Volodymyr V. Nitychuk (Irpin)

39-year-old senior soldier Volodymyr Nitychuk died in a hospital in Dnipro on August 25, 2022. Nine days earlier, while performing a combat mission near Bakhmut in Donetsk region, the defender came under enemy artillery fire and sustained serious injuries. Volodymyr was born in Kyiv. He stu at the National University of "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky," where he earned a degree as a mechanical engineer of printing machines. He worked in his field. He got married and lived with his family in Irpin, Kyiv region. During the full-scale war, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was a senior driver-mechanic of an armored personnel carrier. "He was a very kind and sensitive person, always helping others, giving his last. He went to war voluntarily, without military experience. He loved his daughter and me very much. He is my Hero, as not everyone is capable of giving their life for the sake of others," said the wife of the fallen soldier. "Bright, kind, positive, freedom-loving, talented Comrade, Colleague, Father, and Master of his craft... Volodymyr Nitychuk in this unjust war... For our independent, unique, and best Ukraine. Eternal memory to our Defenders who gave their lives for the future of children and the future of our country. This is an incredibly heavy loss. Condolences to the family. Forever in our hearts," wrote Serhiy Makhinich. Volodymyr was buried in the Alley of Heroes in Irpin. At home, his wife Lesia and daughter Veronika were waiting for him.
