Volodymyr V. Poliatskovyi (Spets)

Captain Volodymyr Polyatskyi (call sign Spets) died on May 16, 2023 near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire and received a fatal shrapnel wound. The defender was 44 years old. Volodymyr was born and lived in Kharkiv. He graduated from the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute". He was engaged in business, and for more than 20 years was a co-owner of the LLC "Trading House "Spetszapchastyna". In his free time, he loved to travel. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his native country. He served in the 5th separate assault brigade. He came as a senior lieutenant and in just half a year became a captain and commander of a tank company. "He was not a regular military, he only graduated from the military department. He was a very honest and decent person. He never refused to help, he was valued and loved for his frankness and intelligence. As his comrades-in-arms say, he was a brave soldier and a true commander. He was the best dad! We remember!" - said the son of the fallen defender. The officer was buried in the Alley of Glory of cemetery No. 18 in his native Kharkiv. At home, Volodymyr was awaited by his wife Svitlana and son Yaroslav.
