- Master Sergeant Volodymyr Porokhnia (call sign Did) was killed in action on June 23, 2022, in a battle for the city of Soledar in Donetsk region. The defender received fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit during an enemy artillery attack. Volodymyr was born in the village of Chutove, Poltava region. He stu at Chutiv school, then graduated from Chernihiv police school. He lived with his family in the city of Slavutych, Kyiv region. Since 1994, he worked at the Slavutych police department as an operative, then as the head of the criminal investigation department. Since 2003, he was a guard at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. In 2014, he took part in the ATO. After the start of the full-scale war, the man again took up arms and went to the front. He served in the 12th separate tank battalion, military unit A0932. He held the position of senior mechanic-driver. During his entire service, Volodymyr received medals "For participation in the anti-terrorist operation", "Defender of the Motherland", "Veteran of the war". "My brother was a true patriot of his Motherland. The best brother, loving son, father, husband. In 2014, he went as a volunteer to the ATO, where he received his first combat injury. Despite this, in 2022, he went to defend the Motherland again. We are proud of him, he is a true Hero. In our hearts, he will forever remain a kind and good person, an extremely brave and courageous warrior," said Halyna Lisnichenko. The hero was buried in the city of Slavutych, Kyiv region. Volodymyr left behind a wife, a son, and two sisters. Posthumously, he was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of the city of Slavutych".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
