- Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Taranushych (call sign Kovach) was killed on March 29, 2024, as a result of an explosive injury sustained during the performance of a combat mission near the village of Synkivka, Kharkiv region. Volodymyr was 37 years old. He was born in the city of Komsomolsk (now Horishni Plavni) in the Poltava region. He graduated from the Kremenchuk Polytechnic University, where he obtained the qualification of an electrical engineer. In civilian life, he worked as an electrician at the Yeristovo Mining and Processing Plant. He was interested in football. He was drafted into military service during the mobilization on July 18, 2023. He defended Ukraine as part of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of platoon commander. "Those who knew Volodymyr say that people like him are extremely rare. He was a pillar, a support, and an example for many. He gave everything for us, for a free Ukraine and peace, he gave his life, having so many plans and unfulfilled dreams," wrote his brother Oleksandr. The warrior was buried in the village of Dmytrivka, Poltava region. Volodymyr is survived by his parents and brother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
