- Paratrooper Volodymyr Khimich (call sign Mini Cooper) died on August 6, 2023, in the Zhytomyr hospital from serious injuries and concussion sustained during combat operations near the village of Yakovlivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 39 years old. Volodymyr was born and lived in the village of Avratyn, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from school there. During his military service, he was promoted to the rank of junior sergeant. He then studied at the Lyubar Vocational School. He inherited his father's skills in construction and home repair. He was engaged in this work until the start of the full-scale war. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in the 95th Brigade, and later transferred to the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade. He was a sapper-scout. He defended Makarov in the Kyiv region and later liberated settlements in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions. "My family still does not want and cannot accept that our positive, our Vovchyk is gone. He was a very bright person with a big heart, always ready to help. My brother loved life very much, but when the full-scale invasion began, he went to the military enlistment office together with his friends. He could not do otherwise. We miss his support, his jokes, his voice... I love you very much, brother, and I will always be proud of you," shared the sister of the fallen Svitlana. The warrior was buried in his native village. Volodymyr is survived by his mother, brother, two sisters, and other relatives, close friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
