- Serviceman Yaroslav Huranets (call sign Klim) was killed on May 27, 2023 near the settlement of Dachne in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack. On November 17, the defender would have turned 40 years old. Yaroslav was born in the village of Remchytsi, Rivne region. He studied at the Yaryniv Gymnasium. Then he obtained the profession of an electrician at the Sarny Vocational School No. 21. He served his conscription military service. In 2005, he graduated from the Higher Vocational School of the Department of the State Security Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, where he received the qualification of an electrician for fire alarm systems. For some time he worked in the State Security Service. Before the Great War, he was a long-distance driver. In his free time, he loved to go mushroom picking, fishing, and make various products. In 2014, Yaroslav fought in the ATO as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade. He was a reconnaissance machine gunner. He took part in the liberation of settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the man again took up arms and went to defend his country from the occupiers. He served in the ranks of the 104th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior rifleman-operator in the 60th battalion "Polissya Wolves". "He was courageous, brave, balanced. A beloved husband, the best dad, a loving son, the youngest and most clever brother, a faithful comrade - this is how Yaroslav will remain in the memory of people," said the wife of the fallen warrior. The hero was buried next to his father in the village of Bilyatichi, Rivne region. At home, Yaroslav was awaited by his wife Iryna, sons Denys and Davyd, daughter Diana, mother, brothers, relatives, and comrades.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
