- Junior Sergeant Yaroslav Plyushch (call sign Arkada) was killed on July 2, 2024, during enemy shelling near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. The hero is now forever 20 years old. Ярослав was born in the village of Chornianka in the Kherson region. He loved to read, draw, and play sports, particularly taekwondo. He graduated from the school in his native village and enrolled in the Kherson Maritime Vocational College of the Fishing Industry, but managed to study there for only a year. When the full-scale war began, he left the occupied territories with his parents and went to work in the Czech Republic. However, after half a year, he returned and joined the ranks of the defenders. He underwent training in the United Kingdom and mastered the specialty of a reconnaissance officer. Ярослав was enlisted in the 24th Separate Assault Battalion "Aidar" and became the commander of the unmanned aerial reconnaissance platoon. For his military service, the warrior was awarded several awards: the commemorative badge of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion "Aidar", the "For Wounds" medal, the "Defender of the Motherland" and "Veteran of War - Participant in Combat Operations" insignia, and the Order of Courage of the III degree. "We are proud of our son. And we miss him very much," said the parents of the fallen. Ярослав was buried in the Alley of Glory in the city of Brovary in the Kyiv region. He is survived by his father Oleg Viktorovych and mother Oksana Ivanivna.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
