Biography
Yaroslav Romanovych Pokhidnia was born on February 8, 2000, in the city of Pryluky in the Chernihiv region. After graduating from the 9th grade of Pryluky Secondary School No. 2, he studied at the Chernihiv Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training. In 2017, he enrolled in the Odesa Military Academy, Faculty of Training Specialists of Airborne Assault Troops. In 2021, he received the officer's rank and was assigned to serve in the 90th Separate Airmobile Battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov (81st Separate Airmobile Brigade), where he held the position of platoon commander and later company commander. During his service in the Joint Forces Operation, the young officer was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Achievements in Military Service" of the II degree and the Order of Courage of the III degree. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was at the forefront in the Donetsk region. He was killed on May 20, 2022, in battles with Russian invaders near the village of Bogorodychne, Donetsk region. The farewell ceremony took place in Pryluky on May 24, 2022, where Yaroslav Pokhidnia was buried.Burial place
