Yaroslav V. Kliuchov

34-year-old Senior Sergeant Yaroslav Klyuchov was killed on January 9, 2023 near the village of Paraskoviivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries during a mortar attack. Yaroslav was born in the village of Naumivka, Chernihiv region. He studied at the Smolian school. In 2009-2010, he served in the military. In 2012, he graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Chernihiv Pedagogical University. Until November 2021, he worked in the National Police, holding the position of senior inspector. He was involved in powerlifting and earned the title of Master of Sports in biceps barbell lifting. On February 26, 2022, the man joined the Territorial Defense Forces and began defending his native Chernihiv region. Later, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 119th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense. "Yarik has only good memories. A reliable friend, a loving son, an excellent brother, and just a wonderful person - this is all about him. He was fair, brave, and therefore without hesitation he stood up to defend his native city of Chernihiv with the words: 'Who, if not me?' He always told his mother: 'Be proud that you have such a son.' Yaroslav is the kind of person who could never have sat quietly in a safe place when there is so much grief in our country," said his younger sister Iryna. The warrior was buried in the cemetery in the village of Smoliana, Chernihiv region. Yaroslav is survived by his parents and sister.
