- Soldier Yehor Petrov was killed on September 13, 2023, near the settlement of Opytne in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during an enemy artillery barrage. The warrior was 24 years old. Yehor was born in the village of Novoyehorivka, Kharkiv region. He studied at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in Kharkiv, but left his studies and in 2018 went on conscript military service. In 2020, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was always interested in military affairs and devoted a lot of time to studying history. He loved to read, fish, and travel around Ukraine. During the full-scale war, the man defended his homeland in the ranks of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was a driver-radio operator. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he fought in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Donetsk regions, in particular, he took part in the battles for the cities of Bakhmut and Vuhledar. He received a combat wound. After treatment, he immediately returned to fulfill his duties to protect Ukraine. "Yehor was a true patriot of his country. He was very brave, responsible. A very good person who never refused to help. He was a faithful friend," said his fiancée Kamila. The young defender was buried in the city of Merefa, Kharkiv region. Yehor is survived by his grandmother, sister, and beloved girlfriend.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
