- Soldier Yevhen Turchanenko (call sign Turcha) was killed on March 22, 2023 near the settlement of Novoselivske in the Luhansk region. While performing a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. The warrior was forever 33 years old. Yevhen was from the Zaporizhzhia region. He lived in Zaporizhzhia. He graduated from the Tavria State Agrotechnological University, obtaining the profession of mechanical engineer. In civilian life, he was a metallurgist, working at the Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloy Plant. He was involved in sports, and was a candidate for the sports master's degree in handball. During the full-scale war, on April 12, 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 92nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. "My husband was a very kind and sensitive person, he loved and respected his relatives. He was courageous, a volunteer who went to defend the Motherland. He was a wonderful person! I have never seen such a harmonious combination of courage, masculine severity, responsibility, and childlike naivety, tenderness, and sincerity in a person. We had a strong family, and our 10th wedding anniversary was to be on June 15, 2023. During these years, I have never heard him condemn anyone, on the contrary, he always tried to see only the good in people. I am very proud that he is my husband and the father of my child," said Kateryna Turchanenko. The warrior was buried in the cemetery of St. Nicholas in Zaporizhzhia. At home, Yevhen was awaited by his mother, wife, and daughter. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
