Yevhen I. Prudnikov (Chyzh)

Soldier Yevhen Prudnikov (call sign Chyzh) was killed on September 8, 2023 near the village of Pryyutne in the Zaporizhzhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained a fatal injury during enemy mortar shelling. On August 22, the warrior would have turned 35 years old. Yevhen was from the city of Zaporizhzhia. He obtained the profession of a welder at the local vocational school. He worked as a welder at the Zaporizhzhia Titanium and Magnesium Plant. He loved his profession and became one of the best specialists at the enterprise. In his free time, he engaged in MMA. He loved to read. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders and went to the front. He fought as part of the 110th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a 2nd category sniper in the sniper platoon of the fire support company. "Yevhen was very kind, attentive, and brave. An optimist and a true warrior-defender. He was in all the hot spots 'at zero', in particular near Bakhmut and in Avdiivka. He covered his comrades, and under shelling he evacuated the wounded," said the deceased's fiancée, Olena Shepotko. The defender was buried in the St. Nicholas cemetery in his native Zaporizhzhia. Yevhen is survived by his father and fiancée. Posthumously, soldier Yevhen Prudnikov was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
