- Born on September 16, 1969, in the city of Kirovsk (now Holubivka) in the Luhansk region. Graduated from high school. Served mandatory military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR. For the last 10 years, he lived with his family in the village of Varivsk in the Ivankiv district of Kyiv region. In September 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a driver of the 8th company of the 3rd mechanized battalion of the 30th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post V2731), city of Novograd-Volynskyi in the Zhytomyr region). Since the fall of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was a participant in the battles for the city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region. In February 2015, Sergeant Korota was wounded by shrapnel from a mine, but he refused hospitalization and returned to duty a few days later. On February 9, 2015, two vehicles of the 30th separate guards mechanized brigade, one of which was driven by Sergeant Korota, left the city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region for ammunition. Near the village of Lohvynove in the Artemivsk (now Bakhmut) district of the Donetsk region, between the cities of Debaltseve and Artemivsk (now Bakhmut), the vehicles were ambushed by Russian-terrorist groups. During the shelling, the driver of the ZIL, Sergeant Korota, was killed. Since then, he was considered missing in action. He was identified through DNA testing among the deceased in the morgue of the city of Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). On March 3, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Hatne in the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn district of Kyiv region.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
