- Soldier Yevhen Pronin (call sign Leshy) was killed in action on March 20, 2022, defending Kyiv region from invaders. The warrior accepted his last battle near the village of Borodianka. Yevhen was from Chernivtsi region. He lived in the village of Ridkivtsi. He worked in law enforcement. He loved to craft and built a house for his family himself. In 2014, he was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity and then went to war as a volunteer. He participated in the ATO as part of the volunteer battalion "Karpatska Sich" and later joined the ranks of the 93rd OMBr. He defended Donetsk Airport and was in Pisky. He was fond of history, collected coins, and loved to go treasure hunting with a metal detector. On the morning of February 24, 2022, Yevhen went to the military enlistment office to return to the army. This time he fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He took up the position of a marksman-sniper and went to defend the Kyiv region from Russian invaders. "Dad was incredibly fair, did not tolerate misconduct. Always told people everything to their face. He was a good husband. He looked at everything logically. He was hot-tempered but calmed down easily. He always came to help, could go without something himself and give it to someone who needed it more. He raised my brother and me like this: no matter what the situation, fight, don't bend under circumstances. I love him very much, miss how he taught me to do things. He really wanted to see grandchildren, but never got the chance. He always said, 'I may not be the best dad, but I'll be a great grandfather.' I love you, Dad. You are the best. Time has passed, but the pain does not subside, your clothes in the closet still smell like you," wrote daughter Lydia Pronina. The hero was buried in the village of Ridkivtsi, Chernivtsi region. At home, Yevhen was waited for by his wife, daughter, and son. Posthumously, soldier Yevhen Pronin was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
