Yevhen O. Kasieiev (Kas)

Senior soldier Yevhen Kasieiev (call sign Kas) died in the hospital on December 1, 2022. On November 30, while defending the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region from the occupiers, the fighter sustained serious injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The defender was only 32 years old. Yevhen was born and lived in Oleksandriia, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from the local professional college of culture and arts. He worked in various fields: as a construction worker, loader, and animator. He also went abroad to work. He very much loved to spend time with his family: picnics, barbecues, and conversations by the campfire. If he couldn't go out in nature, he would gather his family at home or at his parents'. On the second day of the full-scale war, on February 25, 2022, Yevhen voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovy Otaman Kostia Hordiienko. He held the position of senior gunner of the machine gun platoon. "I am the wife of his brother, as well as his godmother, and I consider myself Zhenya's sister, since I came into their family when he was finishing the 9th grade. A handsome man, an Apollo (as his wife loves to say), kind, sincere, grateful, courageous, a true patriot of his country. Always ready to help. There are very few like him," said Olha Kasiieva. The warrior was buried in the "Lysa Hora" cemetery in his hometown. Yevhen is survived by his parents, brother, wife, son, daughter, and other relatives and friends.
