Yevhen O. Murashko (Murakha)

Senior soldier Yevhen Murashko (call sign Muraha) was killed on June 19, 2023 near the settlement of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. While moving to carry out a combat mission, a group of defenders came under enemy tank fire. The soldier covered three of his comrades, saving their lives at the cost of his own. Six days earlier, on June 13, the warrior turned 32 years old. Yevhen was born in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv Energy College. He worked in the field of horticulture. He loved flowers, his garden, and nature very much. On February 24, 2022, the man joined the ranks of volunteers and joined the Territorial Defense Forces of the capital. Yevhen defended his native Kyiv from Russian invaders. He served in the 112th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of squad commander in the 127th battalion. For his worthy service, the military was awarded the medals "Unbreakable Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War" (Bakhmut Frontier) and "For Military Service to Ukraine". "Yevhen was a very good person, kind and sincere. He always helped everyone and worried about everyone. His comrades respected him very much and loved him dearly, for them this is a great loss," said his sister Yulia. The defender was buried at the Forest Cemetery in the capital. At home, Yevhen was awaited by his mother and younger sister. The hero was posthumously awarded the commemorative medal of the 112th brigade, the gold medal "For Love and Sacrifice to Ukraine" and the Order of Courage of the III degree.
