Yevhen O. Strutskyi (Liutyi)

31-year-old junior sergeant Yevhen Strutskyi (call sign Liutyi) was killed on July 6, 2023 in a hospital in Kyiv. On April 11, during the performance of a combat mission in the area of the village of Dibrova in Luhansk region, he received a gunshot penetrating wound to the abdominal cavity. For almost three months, doctors fought for his life. Yevhen was born in the village of Mali Sorochyntsi, Poltava region. He graduated from the Khomutets Veterinary and Technological College, obtaining the qualification of a veterinary paramedic. During his years of study at the college, he fulfilled the standard of a Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, and was a four-time champion of Ukraine. He worked as an auto mechanic at a service station. "Yevhen was an exemplary family man, an honest and kind person. He led a healthy lifestyle and engaged in sports. He always came to help everyone! No matter how difficult it was for him, he always smiled and charged others with positivity. His comrades-in-arms noted that he was a true warrior, a man of his word, a man of courage, an example of indomitability and strength of spirit. Eternal memory and honor to all who gave their lives for Ukraine!" - said the wife of the fallen Olena Strutska. "Zhenya was a special person. A faithful and reliable friend, a loving husband and son. Fair, purposeful, cheerful... A person who left the best memories of himself and an incredible pain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Zhenya. The pain of loss pierced everyone and will remain for life. Zhenya taught us to love life and showed what happiness it is to have such a reliable and faithful friend as he was," added Lina Ksyonz, the wife of the deceased's best friend. The warrior was buried in his native village. Yevhen left behind a mother, brother, sister, wife and daughter. When the hero was killed, his wife was in the 8th month of pregnancy, so little Zlata will never get to know her father.
