Yevhen O. Zhandarov (Karl)

Junior Sergeant Yevhen Zhandorov (call sign Karl) was killed on May 7, 2022 near the village of Novoselivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 28 years old. Yevhen was born in Taromske, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at school No. 124, then graduated from the College of Printing and Information Technologies. In 2012, he entered the Military Institute of Tank Troops in Kharkiv. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, Yevhen went to the military enlistment office and volunteered. He then told his mother: "If I am defending Ukraine, you will sleep peacefully at home." He was assigned to the 25th separate airborne assault Sich brigade of the airborne assault troops. Comrades say that Karl was a true patriot of his homeland. "When we took up positions, our commander was mortally wounded. Karl took command. We held the positions and carried out the military task. He is a true Hero," said comrade Kostiantyn. "Yevhen was a kind, sensitive person, he always came to help everyone," said mother Natalia. The defender was buried in his native Taromske, Dnipropetrovsk region. At home, Yevhen was awaited by his mother, younger brother, and 5-year-old daughter.
