- Senior soldier Yevhen Burda (call sign Skif) was killed on May 24, 2024 near the village of Kozachi Laheri in the Kherson region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of artillery shelling. The defender was 45 years old. Yevhen was born and lived in Boyarka, Kyiv region. He studied at Boyarka School No. 4. Then he obtained the profession of an accountant at vocational school No. 38, and later graduated from the Sloviansk College with a degree in "Commercial Activity". Before the invasion, he had his own construction business. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of volunteers and stood up to defend his country. He served in the 112th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He held the position of a gunner, anti-aircraft gunner in the 11th battalion. For his service, the soldier was awarded the Order of the Golden Cross, the Medal "Veteran of War - Participant in Combat Operations", and the commemorative medal of the 112th Brigade (posthumously). "I am the mother of our common child with Yevhen, son Oleksandr. Yevhen was killed a heroic death. He was the best father, son, brother, friend, comrade, who gave his life for us, for a free Ukraine and peace, having so many plans and unfulfilled dreams. He was courageous, brave and faithful to his comrades and the Ukrainian people until his last breath," said Valentyna Burda. Yevhen was buried on the Alley of Heroes in Boyarka.
