Yevhen Yu. Khomenko (Khomiak)

Sergeant Yevhen Khomenko (call sign Khomiak) was killed on March 1, 2024 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The defender was 37 years old. Yevhen was born in the city of Myrhorod, Poltava region. He studied at vocational school No. 44, where he obtained the profession of tractor-machine operator. He worked at the Myrhorod sugar factory. He loved football and hunting very much. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought as part of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a squad commander. "I miss my brother's smile so much!" said his sister Zhanna. The paratrooper was buried in his hometown. Yevhen left behind his wife Halyna, children Polina, Denys and Bohdanka, as well as other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
