Yevhenii A. Kukhar

Sergeant Yevheniy Kukhary was killed on June 10, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Romanivka in Donetsk region. The defender sustained fatal injuries due to enemy artillery shelling. He was 45 years old. Yevheniy was born and lived in the village of Velyki Hulaky in Kyiv region. He graduated from Velykohulakivska Secondary School. He worked as a welder, welding and installing gates and canopies. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Yevheniy defended Ukraine as part of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He commanded a platoon of radiation, chemical, and biological protection. "Zhenya was very kind and open. The best husband and father. A master of his craft. Together we built a large bright house where we wanted to live long and happily. Every corner of the house was made by his hands," said the soldier's wife, Tetiana. "Ukraine is a country of heroes. Throughout our long history, we have had great princes, brave Cossacks, and desperate defenders. To list all our heroes, we would need a hundred-meter sheet of paper. Heroes do not die, and their memory will live on forever in the hearts of generations," noted the Fastiv Center for Vocational Education. The serviceman was buried in his native village. At home, Yevheniy was awaited by his mother, wife, two daughters, and son.
