- Soldier Yevheniy Shyshov (call sign Shysh) was killed on September 8, 2022, while repelling an enemy attack near the village of Zelenyi Hai in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was only 29 years old. Yevheniy Shyshov was originally from Ivano-Frankivsk. He stu at school No. 13, and due to his passion for football, he later transferred to school No. 24, into a football special class. He played for the football team "Nika," and traveled around half of Europe with his teammates, participating in many international football tournaments. After graduating from school, he entered the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. He worked at various enterprises and private firms in his hometown, as well as abroad. Despite everything, Yevheniy's greatest passion in life was football; he participated in football matches until the beginning of the full-scale invasion. He played for different clubs. However, in early March 2022, he volunteered for the territorial defense of the city of Kalush, as there were no places available in the territorial defense of Ivano-Frankivsk at that time. On March 14, 2022, he took an oath of allegiance to Ukraine, and on April 25, he went to the front. Yevheniy served in the 102nd separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a gunner in the machine gun section of the fire support platoon of the 79th separate battalion. "When Zhenya told me that they would be going to the front, he said that no one goes there to die; they go to destroy the enemy that has come to our land. We believed that everything would be fine, we were eagerly waiting for him to come home, but it didn't turn out that way... He was big and strong; we still can't believe this is all real. Now we have a great and strong angel... All his friends from civilian life and comrades from military service speak of Zhenya as an extraordinarily kind person, a good and reliable friend. Zhenya was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, and friend. He lived a short life, but he lived each day, engaged in his favorite activity, and had plans for the future..." his sister Olena Shyshova said. Yevheniy was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the Ivano-Frankivsk city cemetery, located in the village of Chukalivka. He is survived by his parents and sister. Posthumously, the warrior was awarded the badge from the mayor "For Honor and Valor," the medal "For Services to Prykarpattia," and an honorary award from the territorial defense forces.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
