Yevhenii F. Pozhoha

Junior Sergeant Yevhen Pozhoga was killed on March 5, 2023 near the village of Oleksandropil in the Donetsk region. During the firefight with the occupiers and enemy artillery shelling, he received fatal injuries. The warrior was forever 37 years old. Yevhen was born in the village of Dubovi Hryady, Kharkiv region. In 2007, he graduated from the Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade, obtaining the qualification of a commodity expert. He got married and started a family. He always cared for the well-being of his family, working a lot for this purpose, including abroad. He loved football and relaxing with his loved ones. During the full-scale war, in May 2022, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He served in the 71st separate Ranger Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a reconnaissance spotter. In November, Yevhen's unit went to defend the Luhansk region. For a long time, shoulder to shoulder with his comrades-in-arms, he repelled the attacks of Russian occupiers in the Kreminna area. According to his comrades-in-arms, Yevhen saved more than one life, did not leave a single wounded person, and carried them off the battlefield with his last strength. In March 2023, the unit was transferred to the Donetsk region. "My husband was responsible, honest, wise, hardworking, constantly developing, and always came to help: both in peacetime and in war. Kind, sincere and cheerful. He was the best and most caring father in the world for our two daughters and an irreplaceable husband. He was the only son of his parents, the cursed war took away their blood, hope and joy. He was a real man, a hero and a role model. He said: 'Who, if not me? And if everyone hides, they will come to our house too.' My beloved is a very bright person with a big heart!" - said the wife of the fallen soldier. The scout was buried in his native village. Yevhen is survived by his father Flor, mother Liubov, wife Svitlana, and daughters Anastasia and Varvara.
