Yevhenii I. Sheveliuk

38-year-old soldier Yevhen Sheveliuk was killed on October 11, 2023 in a battle near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. He received fatal injuries during enemy shelling of the unit's positions from a tank, MLRS, artillery, and a mortar. Yevhen was from the village of Viktorivka in the Cherkasy region. He graduated from the Viktorivka general secondary school of I-III degrees. Then he acquired the profession of a cook at the Butsk vocational school, loved this business and cooked very deliciously. Later, he studied at the Uman DOSAAF as a driver of cargo vehicles. In civilian life, he worked as a general laborer. In May 2023, the man was drafted into military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He held the position of a sniper rifleman. "He was always sincere, caring, cheerful, and full of life. The whole family misses him incredibly. We are proud of our Hero!" said the mother of the fallen Svitlana. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, he was awaited by his mother, grandmother, wife, and two children. Yevhen Sheveliuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
