- Soldier Yevhen Stelmashchuk (call sign Zheka, Bimba) was killed on March 30, 2023, while performing his duties near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. During the enemy shelling, he covered his comrade, saving his life. The defender was 40 years old. Yevhen was born and lived in the village of Kraiv, Rivne region. He graduated from Ostroh Higher Vocational School No. 28. In life, he chose the profession of a builder. He loved his work very much and had a talent for it. In 2002-2009, he worked in the repair and construction shop of the Rivne Azot enterprise. Subsequently, he developed in the construction industry both in Ukraine and abroad. His relatives note that he could make a work of art out of simple things. He participated in the ATO in Donbas, defending Debaltseve in 2015. During the full-scale war, Yevhen again stood up to defend his native country from the invaders. He served in the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. He held the position of senior mechanic. "My brother was a good person. Cheerful, positive, polite, punctual. He was a reliable support and support for his relatives. He was proud to be Ukrainian. And he defended Ukraine until his last breath," said his sister Natalia Polishchuk. "Kind, sincere, fair, a devoted citizen of his state," said the wife of the deceased's cousin, Bohdan Zahorodnia.
