Yevhenii K. Bilichenko (Bil)

Lieutenant Yevhenii Bilichenko (call sign Bil) was killed on March 15, 2023 while performing official duties near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. The officer was only 24 years old. Yevhenii was born in the village of Nova Dmytrivka, Cherkasy region. After school, he studied at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv to become an ecologist, but left the university in his third year. From 2019 to 2023, he studied at the Lviv National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. In early 2019, he participated in the Joint Forces Operation. He was involved in sports, loved boxing, adored playing the guitar and listening to music. He wanted to develop in the IT field, as he enjoyed it. He also loved to draw on a tablet. He never stopped at one activity, he needed to know as much as possible. During the full-scale war, Yevhenii fought in the ranks of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a platoon commander. "Zhenya was a kind and fair person, he protected the weak, never allowed his relatives and friends to be offended. He loved borscht and Napoleon cake, which our mother cooked for him. Zhenya was an incredibly intelligent person. He was fully devoted to his work. His commander said that he was the only regular officer that everyone listened to," his sister Daria said. The hero was buried in his native village. At home, Yevhenii was awaited by his parents and younger sister.
