- Sailor Yevhen Hladii (call sign Shnek) was killed on March 19, 2023 in Tula Oblast (Russia). He was held captive on the territory of Correctional Colony No. 1. Yevhen was captured from Mariupol - in mid-April 2022, the serviceman stopped communicating with his relatives, and then they recognized him in one of the videos with Ukrainian prisoners of war. Yevhen was 39 years old. He was born in the village of Kotliareve, Mykolaiv Oblast. He grew up and went to school there. Then he worked as a tractor driver and combine harvester operator. In his free time, he liked to be with his family, go fishing, and also loved to meet with friends. The man was released from military service due to health reasons, but since 2014 he voluntarily decided to defend Ukraine. He participated in the war in the East, in particular in the village of Shyrokyne in Donetsk Oblast, as part of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinsky. During the full-scale invasion, Yevhen took part in the battles for Mariupol. He held the position of a shooter. He was awarded the "Veteran of the Anti-Terrorist Operation" badge and the "For the Defense of the Homeland" medal. "Everyone respected and loved him very much, because he was the true soul of the company," said the fighter's sister Natalia Riabinina. Yevhen was buried in the village of Kotliareve, Mykolaiv Oblast. At home, his parents, wife, two children and sister were waiting for him.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
