- Junior Sergeant Yevhen Khmara (call sign Dzhmel) was killed on January 7, 2023, defending the city of Soledar in Donetsk region from the occupiers. The defender was 33 years old. Yevhen was born in the village of Nechaivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. He lived with his family in the settlement of Ternuvate, Zaporizhzhia region. Since 2010, he has worked at the Pologivska distance of the PC-15 "Ukrzaliznytsia". Initially, he was a track worker, and shortly before the full-scale invasion, he took the position of a foreman for the current maintenance and repair of the track and artificial structures. In his free time, he was engaged in beekeeping on his own apiary. In June 2022, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yevhen underwent training and joined the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade. He held the position of squad commander. He took part in the defense of the Kherson and Donetsk regions. "A true patriot of his country, a loving husband and father. Our guardian angel, we mourn, we are proud of our Hero," wrote the wife of the fallen. "The ruthless war is taking the most precious thing - human lives. In the large railway family, there is another loss. Another employee of the regional branch "Prydniprovska Railway" was killed, bravely defending the country. Responsibility, conscientiousness, diligence - this is what the track workers respected their colleague for. We will remember every fallen in this war. Glory to the Heroes!" - said on the page of "Ukrzaliznytsia". The warrior was buried in the settlement of Ternuvate, Zaporizhzhia region.
