- Colonel Yevhen Budzikhovsky was killed on February 28, 2022 in Kyiv. While on a work assignment, he sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of a Russian shelling. The officer was 35 years old. He lived in the capital. He graduated from the Kamianets-Podilskyi Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training, the Military Academy in Odesa, the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy, and the Military Diplomatic Academy named after Ye. Berezniak. He was a professional military officer. In his free time, he loved to play football and taught this to his sons, whom he adored. He participated in combat operations since 2014. He was a senior officer of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. For his service, Colonel Yevhen Budzikhovsky had a number of awards, including the Medal "For Assistance to Military Intelligence" of the II degree, the distinction "For Devotion to Military Intelligence" of the III degree. "An exemplary and loving father, a caring husband, an attentive son. A specialist in his field, a responsible, purposeful officer, respected in the circle of friends. Colonel of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, he has been defending the country from the occupiers in eastern Ukraine since 2014. He gave his life defending the capital on February 28, 2022," said the warrior's wife Anna. Yevhen was buried on the Alley of Glory in the Rakove microdistrict in Khmilnyk. The officer left behind a wife, two sons who were 4 and 10 years old at the time of his death, parents, and a brother. Yevhen Budzikhovsky was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the III degree, the distinction "Honorary Citizen of the City of Khmilnyk", and the medal "Honor. Glory.
