Yevhenii V. Liakh

Sergeant Yevhen Liakh (call sign Wolverine) died on February 23, 2024, while repelling an enemy assault near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 42 years old. Yevhen was born in the village of Shediievo, Poltava region. He graduated from Poltava Vocational School No. 4. In civilian life, he worked as a firefighter. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In his free time, he loved to go fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man became a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 20th separate rifle battalion. He was a gunner in the anti-aircraft missile platoon. "My son was brave, honest, and had many friends," said the mother of the fallen. Yevhen was buried in the village of Burty, Poltava region. He is survived by his mother Iryna, wife Oksana, daughter Oleksandra, and brothers Andrii, Yurii, and Borys.
