- Junior Sergeant Yevhen Romanenko (call sign Barber) was killed on September 6, 2022 near the village of Verbivka in the Kharkiv region. The defender sustained fatal shrapnel wounds from an enemy mine. He was 33 years old. Yevhen was born in the city of Dniprorудне, Zaporizhia region. He obtained a secondary technical education as a mason-installer. He was interested in car repairs and hunting. He worked in mobile security. He participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war from the very beginning. In 2014-2017, he served in the 93rd Brigade. He was in battles for the Donetsk Airport and on the territory of the ATO. In 2017-2020, he defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 25th separate airborne Sich Brigade. Later he was demobilized, but after a short rest, in July 2021, he returned to his comrades. During the full-scale war, in April 2022, Yevhen was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. "He loved his job very much. He was a soldier at heart. He loved his comrades. He always helped everyone when it was needed. Always smiling, cheerful, positive, loved life. Dreamed of seeing us... His comrades said he joked and smiled even before his death..." said his wife Alina. The serviceman was buried in Zaporizhia. Yevhen left behind a wife and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
